Meet The Team

We are 3 home-grown person centred counsellors who met whilst studying for our PG Diploma in Person Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Strathclyde.

Bonded by our love of all things Carl Rogers we quickly realised we shared a vision of bringing affordable counselling to all. It made sense to team up together to turn this dream into a reality and bring person centred counselling back to the forefront where it belongs.

・Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
・BA in Community Education
・HNC in Integrative Counselling with a Diploma in Addiction Counselling

My counselling journey had its tentative beginnings at 21 when curiosity and interest led me to embark upon an introductory counselling skills course. It would be another 3 years before I found the confidence and courage to make the leap from retail to further education and it remains the scariest but best decision I ever made.

While I was studying my HNC my tutor once remarked during a lecture, “the audacity of me to think I know someone's life better than them”. This comment changed my life and is at the core of all my client work. It's the reason I'm a Person Centred counsellor as I do not claim to know your life better than you do, I cannot possibly know what is best for you and I will never attempt to try. That is not my job. You are more than capable. What is my job however, is to listen empathically to you while you try to figure it all out. Life can be messy and complicated and there are times you may feel trapped, scared, unhappy, lost or alone. I'm here to sit with you in those moments and support you through the difficult parts, the uncomfortable parts, the enjoyable parts, the parts that don't make sense, the parts that no-one else knows and be there right alongside you, helping you to untangle it all. Together we will create a safe space for you to explore all these aspects of yourself and find a way out of the maze.

All sessions currently being held online or telephone only.

・Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
・BA in Philosophy

I see counselling as about facilitating a client’s own innate drive toward personal growth in whatever direction they see fit. As such, I do not see it as my place to guide or direct, but to get right down into the struggle with you, the client, and offer support while we both find our way through it together.

My journey to becoming a counsellor began after I finished my undergraduate degree. I had studied Philosophy and was particularly drawn to Existentialism. This had helped me during a period of depression at university and I wanted to help others experiencing similar issues. I enrolled in a night class in Counselling Skills at Kelvin College where I discovered the work of Carl Rogers, the creator of Person Centred Therapy, who was also influenced by Existentialist philosophy. From there, I went on to complete the COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate course and my Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at Strathclyde University.

I have worked with a range of clients, of all ages, with a huge variety of presenting issues. Whatever you are looking for from counselling I will work with you to help facilitate that journey.

・Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy
・BSc. Hons in Immunology

It was while I was studying Immunology at Glasgow University where my interest in the mind-body connection began to germinate. "In the science world you are taught that the mind and body are two separate entities but this never made sense to me and I became increasingly interested in how our mental health can manifest itself in our physical bodies".

After having completed my degree my interest had blossomed into a desire to become a counsellor. I went onto study Person Centred Counselling at Strathclyde University. "It was here that I learned the skills to build the bridge between the body and the mind".

My focus is on learning what it is like to be you; to enter your world so that I can travel alongside you down your chosen paths. With me we won’t just look at the bits that don’t work but we’ll also appreciate the bits that do! We will work together to help you build the strength you need to heal and to grow.

It’s not my style to advise you on what turn to take next on your journey: what is my style is to fully accept and respect the beautiful complexity of your life even in the times you find it difficult to do this for yourself.

Let’s get you to the place you want to be in your life – I’m ready when you are!
